In Light Of The Wildfires

Okay guys...I can't be the only one who is getting a little freaked out over the crazy...hmm... I mean insane weather lately!? I've seen evacuations in Texas, California, Florida, Caribbeans, British Columbia and now a voluntary evacuation was issued for the Waterton Lakes National Park area in Alberta, Canada, which is about an hour away from my house. I know there are more places with evacuations than that, I just didn't want to do the research.... This is going to be a short lil post.

Our views as of late...

Nature Photography & Lifestyle Blog - Alberta, canada - Pixels by Tina- Fire sky over Alberta

The sun is red and the light is casts in my living room is even worse. The moon as it rises and it's still low on the horizon, it's bright red-orange and the clouds are just weird.

I'm nervous but not scared, my family and I are safe and far away enough from the fires, but not far away to NOT breath in all this crap!

Anyways, I just needed to rant a little... But you know what this is teaching me? To appreciate what you have and I am not talking about material things but things money can't buy...like the sunset. We haven't seen a "normal" sunset in months, you know, the kind that comes with a blue sky. And rain...it hasn't rained in weeks if not months. These are the things we take for granted and we shouldn't, myself included.

I follow everything closely and I am truly sorry for those who have lost everything because of nature's unapologetic behavior, stay safe my friends.

-> What's the weather been like where you live? Is it acting weird there too?

Peace & Love,

Little Park, Big Story

I always like to go for a drive down some back road I haven't taken before, there's so many in Alberta, it seems more than anywhere else I've lived in Canada. This time I decided to go south to the Waterton Lakes National Park. Since this unusually nice weather decided to continue, I decided to go see what I could find. In a wind warning, with winds up to 100 km/h, it's not easy standing still to take a photo but it was is fun! I always love a challenge!

The best part, for me, is how you can hear the wave of water coming in from afar, then louder as it gets closer, it's very amazing indeed. Although the tides vary from day to day, the high tide can be as high as...
